A brief chronicle of my new life in Michigan, focusing on the fact that I live in a converted factory loft building with several hundered other "young professionals." Yeah, it's a yuppie dorm.

Take the MIT Weblog Survey

Click on the above to do a Weblog survey, if you're a blogger. It's been so long since I updated this thing that I'm not sure I qualify, but I like taking surveys so I did it anyway.

I'm back in GR now, for a while. I'm teaching summer session, so I've got 6 weeks of intensive British Literature to do. Last week was week one; next week is the midterm. Got to love the pace... They handed in paper number 1 on Tuesday - I just finished grading them all to give back on Thursday, so they can have my comments before completing paper 2 (due next Tuesday). Quick turnaround for all of us.

Otherwise, I celebrated the fourth of July weekend with a visit from Matt, and a trip to the Lake Michigan coast on Sunday, and a migraine on Monday. I completely wasted the opportunity of living downtown, on the river with the fireworks... standing in the rain and listening to things go boom and random bright lights was exactly the wrong thing for a migraine. Besides, I had class the next morning at 8am. So I ignored the booms as best I could and stayed dry.

One more thing - happy (belated) birthday to my brother!
